There is a legal obligation to provide all staff with suitable training on the equipment they use in their workplace, particularly when it involves medical gas cylinders. Despite their common appearance, it’s crucial to remember that these cylinders are high-pressure vessels that contain certified medicines, demanding careful and knowledgeable handling.
Recent incidents where staff have sustained injuries highlight the critical need for specialized training in safe working practices. To address this, we offer a focused three-hour training session specifically designed for portering and nursing staff. This course not only meets the training provision requirements of HTM 02-01 but also includes practical exercises to ensure participants are well-versed in the safe use and handling of medical gas cylinders.
This course is beneficial for operational staff and those preparing to train others in this vital area of workplace safety (see our ‘Train the Trainer’ course). Through this training, participants will gain the skills and confidence needed to handle medical gas cylinders safely, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
This adjustment maintains the original intent while tailoring the title and content to the specific audience of porters and nurses, ensuring clarity and relevance.
